
Tomislav Banić
Born in Slavonski Brod, Croatia.
Completed elementary and high school in Slavonski Brod, where he achieved the occupation of COOK.
Continues his education and specialization in Zagreb at the Hospitality and Tourism College, where he successfully qualifies as a CHEF – MASTER SPECIALIST ( IV and V level), and with the acquired diploma has the ability to open and run his own business.
Successfully completed Pedagogical and Psychological training at the Teachers University in Zagreb, where he achieved the occupation of PROFESSIONAL CULINARY TEACHER, and in accordance with his occupation the title of CHEF – MASTER SPECIALIST, PROFESSIONAL CULINARY TEACHER, and gained the opportunity of teaching theoretical and practical classes in the art of cooking and gastronomy.
Completed another four – year high school as a condition of employment in the school and the opportunity of enrolling to college.
Furthermore, he successfully completed the program for SOMMELIER AND BARTENDER, occupations verified by the Ministry of Education and in accordance with the provisions of the school projected as an independent profession.
Completed the course “Ears Wide Open” – strengthening the competence of students with special needs. This was a project financed by the European Union and implemented by the Center for Education “Slava Raškaj” – Zagreb.
Successfully completed expert training at the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality in Opatija, called SPECIALIST FOOD AND BEVERAGE DEPARTMENT, in duration of one academic year.

In his time spent working in the occupation, he gained experiences working in hotels, restaurants and other catering facilities, such as kitchens with prepared dishes at a daily norm of up to 1.500 meals. He perfects his work as a COOK – BUTCHER, and is able to independently complete a daily capacity of up to 2300 meals.
Meanwhile, he is improving and perfecting his knowledge of national cuisine and the cuisines of other countries, for example Australian, Italian, Chinese and Mexican cuisine. He fulfills the positions of Chef, Deputy Chef and Shift Supervisor, also attending a variety of educational programs.
As the author of his own recipes and copyright works, he was present in the media, specifically the Slavonski Brod Television, “Posavska Hrvatska” and "Glas Slavomije". His work is available here: www.tomychef.com
He released his cookbook and is currently prepearing the next one.
He is a member of the Croatian Culinary Federation, and one from a short list of the Croatian National Culinary Championship. Also a participant of world congresses, seminars and competitions, emphasizing the gold medal at the State Regional Competition.
Staying in Australia (Sidney), he is offered a job opportunity at Bondi Beach’s Pizzeria & Seafood Restaurant “Pappa Giovanni” and enhances cooperation with the “Wild Fire” Restaurant in Sidney as their ambassador in improving connections between Australia and Croatia in the culinary world.
He would like to emphasize his cooperation with his personal mentor and great friend, professor of gastronomy, Jurica Grozdanić, who is also the winner of the state recognition “Albert Bazal” for his life work and contribution to the advancement of the art of cooking in Croatia, and many other achievements such as the First Chef of the World at the world championships, Best Chef in Europe, etc.
Chef master specialist and a professional culinary teacher, Ivan Kozić, had a great influence throughout his education and continuing cooperation, as well as his personal mentor, Dragica Lukin, who is the president of the World Pastry Organization and a member of expert evaluators in the Croatian Culinary Federation and the World Association of Chefs. He is also developing further cooperation with Deniz Zembo, the owner of the restaurant “Le Mandrać” in Volovsko, "Rivas" in Rijeka and the hotel “Amfiteatar” in Pula.
He passed military service as the best soldier of RH. Successfully passed the driving test and the test for a boat skipper, which ensures the required permit to work on a cruiser and other vessels in sea and river transport.
He completed a hunting exam which complements his knowledge in the profession.
